Naana Abena Ohemeng-Tinyase, (Dr Hesse), DrPH, MBA, MHSA, CSSGB, CDA

Motivated by herself and her brother battling with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD), Dr. Mrs. Naana Abena Ohemeng-Tinyase (Dr. Hesse) founded Awotwe Sickle Cell Foundation Inc a non-profit organization in 2016 to help support individuals with sickle cell and their families while raising awareness about sickle cell disease.

Dr. Hesse is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Awotwe Sickle Cell Foundation. Dr. Hesse has a Doctorate in Public Health from Walden University, Minneapolis, MN, USA in 2020, a master’s in business administration from Mercer University in Atlanta, GA, USA in 2014, a Master’s in Health Services Administration from Strayer University, Morrow, GA, USA in 2013, and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in 2010. She also has a Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate, Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate, and Clinical Research Associate Certificate. She currently works as a Public Health Analyst

In her college days at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, for the 2009-2010 academic year, she became the General Secretary for the College of Arts and Social Sciences and served as a Member of Parliament for the SRC. Naana Abena is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success and Alpha Chi National College Honor Society. Dr Hesse is also a member of the Patients as Partners Sickle Cell Working Group.

She is passionate about sickle cell awareness and want the world to know. Dr Hesse is highly dedicated to sickle cell Warriors and their families. She loves to put a smile on the faces of people by making a positive impact in the lives of people. She is a wife, mother, and prayer warrior.
