Dr. Mrs. Naana Abena Ohemeng-Tinyase (Dr. Hesse) is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Awotwe Sickle cell Foundation. Dr. Ohemeng-Tinyase formed the company in May 2016 and became the Chief Executive Officer in June 2016. Dr. Ohemng-Tinyase has a Doctorate in Public Health from Walden University, Minneapolis, MN, USA in 2020, a Master’s in Business Administration from Mercer University in Atlanta, GA, USA in 2014, a Master’s in Health Services Administration from Strayer University, Morrow, GA, USA in 2013, and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in 2010. She also has a Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate, Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate, and Clinical Research Associate Certificate
She was the Vice President of Global Church of Grace Ministries from 2018 – 2022, Youths Ministry . For the 2009-2010 academic year of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, she became the General Secretary for the College of Arts and Social Sciences and served as a Member of Parliament for the SRC. Naana Abena is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success and Alpha Chi National College Honor Society.
Nana Yaw Ohemeng-Tinyase, BSc. Accounting.
Co-Founder.
Nana Yaw Ohemeng-Tinyase is the Co-Founder of the Awotwe Sickle cell Foundation. He creates a clear vision that is shared with others to provide unity within the foundation. Nana Yaw identifies opportunities or patients that the foundations may need to assist as well as very actively developing plans, determining specifications, and bringing that plan into action. Also, Nana Yaw is a co-founder of a_n_wai photography.
Nana Yaw received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in 2016.
Sophia Amenyo
Consultant
Sophia is the Consultant of the Awotwe Sickle cell Foundation. She was appointed to his current position in June 2016. Sophia found an interest in this foundation because of the silence on and the stigma attached to sickle cell disease. As the consultant of the foundation, she provides expert advice on how the Awotwe Sickle Cell foundation should be run and also find ways to obtain resources for the foundation. Sophia assists the foundation with certain areas of the inclusiveness work. She acts as an educator, a catalyst for deeper change, a resource, and a facilitator to the foundation. Mrs. Amenyo is a strong advocate for nonprofit foundations and very knowledgeable when it comes to setting it up as well as management.
Mrs. Amenyo is currently pursuing her nursing degree at Georgia State Perimeter College, Atlanta, GA, USA.
Enoch Essilfie Akromah, BBA.
Finance Manager
Enoch Essilfie Akromah is the Financial Manager at Awotwe Sickle Cell Foundation. Enoch was appointed to his current position in June 2016.
Enoch received a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Finance from Georgia State University in January 2018. He also received an undergraduate certificate in Hospitality Administration with an emphasis in Aviation Management from Cecil B. Day School of Hospitality Administration, Georgia State University in January 2018.
Enoch is a member of the Finance Society, Georgia State University. He currently serves as the Financial Secretary at Global Church of Grace Ministries, Youths Ministry.
Comfort Akuamoah
Public Relations Coordinator
Comfort Akuamoah is the Public Relations Manager of the Awotwe Sickle Cell Foundation. She was named to this current position in June 2016. After training under DECA, she received certification in marketing, business management, promotion/sales, finance, and public relations in 2016 at Riverdale High School.
Comfort Akuamoah is currently a nursing student at Chamberlain School of Nursing to obtain her BSN. She hopes to further her education to become a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner.
As a Public Relation Coordinator, she develops public relations strategies and campaigns. Comfort prepares press releases, keynote speeches, and promotional material as well as building positive relationships with stakeholders, media, and the public. She believes in involving the community in preventive care which includes informing them about sickle cell. In the position, she hopes to inform, educate, and inspire those we encounter.
Rosemary Addae. RN
Health Educator
Rosemary Addae is the Health educator of the Awotwe Sickle Cell Foundation. She was named to this current position in December 2018. Rosemary has a diploma in nursing from the Komfo Anokye Nursing Training College in Kumasi in 2008 and a degree in nursing in 2016 from Christa Service University College. Rosemary is also a Sickle Cell Warrior.
As the Health educator, Rosemary promotes, maintains, and improves individual and community health by assisting individuals and communities to adopt healthy behaviors I. Relation to sickle cell. She collects and analyzes data to identify community needs before planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating programs designed to encourage sickle cell healthy lifestyles, policies, and environments. She also serves as a resource to assist sickle cell individuals, other professionals, and the community.
WILLIAMS AGYEMANG-DUAH
Researcher
Williams Agyemang-Duah is a researcher at Awotwe Sickle Cell Foundation. Williams was appointed to his current position in February 2022. Williams is currently a PhD student in Geography at the Department of Geography and Planning, Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada. He holds a Master of Science degree in Development Policy and Planning and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Geography and Rural Development from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana. His research interest covers Geographies of Ageing and Social Gerontology, Geographies of Health and Healthcare and Geographies of Care. He has co-authored and published 54 peer-reviewed articles in reputable international journals including Journal of Herbal Medicine (Elsevier), BMC Public Health, BMC Geriatrics, international Journal for Equity in Health (BMC), International Journal of Africa Nursing Sciences (Elsevier), Journal of Integrative Medicine (Elsevier), Journal of Transport and Health (Elsevier), BMC Research Notes, Journal of Gerontological Social Work (Taylor and Francis), Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine (SAGE) and Journal of Public Health (Springer).

Amos Amponsah Osei
IT Administrator
Amos is the IT Administrator of the Awotwe Sickle cell Foundation. He was appointed to his current position in June 2016. Amos is also one of the founders of the Dipci Family which is also a nonprofit foundation to help the needy.
Amos effectively maintains the company’s IT network, servers, and security systems. Amos quickly and correctly diagnoses the system problems and address them amicably.
Amos is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at Clayton State University, Atlanta, GA. US.
Christian Amankwah Agyemang, BASW.
Chief Coordinator
Christian is the Chief Coordinator of the Awotwe Sickle cell Foundation. Christian was appointed to his current position in June 2016. He is the owner of the Ghana Dipci Tour and a Co-founder of the DIPCI Family (nonprofit foundation). Making a difference in people’s lives is something he has always wanted to do. He loves working with children because he believes children are the future of the world. He has the enthusiasm of showing foreigners his country (Ghana), teaching the history and telling them about the culture of his motherland.
He plans, organizes, evaluates, coordinates, and manages assigned educational programs for the foundation. Christian creates milestone schedules, drafts vendor delivery policies, comes up with accurate manpower estimates, and prepares technical summary reports for management.
He is an alumnus of the University of Ghana, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Social Work. He was the publicity chairman of Akuafo Hall (University of Ghana) in 2012/2013. He was also the senator for G upper in Akuafo hall in 2012/2013. Christian’s future academic pursuits include focusing on museum and tourism, masters in social work. Also, he was a member of the Akuafo hall soccer team that won Gold in the 2011/2012 University of Ghana soccer league.
